S E.SÌL is an Italian brand with Breton roots like its founder, Cécile Jullien a Frenchborn designer who has made Italy her land of adoption, and turned to launch her own leather slowfashion handbags brand, according to a more humane and slower approach.
S E.SÌL came out like a kind of a phonetics transcription of the name of its founder and designer, Cécile Jullien. She soon realized that she could play with the way the dear Italian “Nonna” of her three kids used to write down her name Sessìle on small “bigliettini” with her tiny calligraphy, and above all with the duality of being the product of a biculture.
S E.SÌL is the interconnection between two worlds, The one where it is coming from and the other where it belongs to now and has made what it becomes. A unique combination of experience, craftsmanship, tradition and style based on a cross-cultural dialog.
T he bags are designed in Turin and handmade in Naples, Italy by a fourth generation family run business based on craftsmanship, excellence and tradition. Inspired by the textures and hues of nature, we aim at constantly better our ways to better protect it.
T hat’s why sustainability coupled with authenticity that defines the whole brand is of high importance. The handbags are made in leathers sourced either in Italy or France. And the lining, the dustbags, packaging, labels and visit cards are made from sustainable materials, such as recycled or regenerated cotton, bio cotton and recycled paper).
S E.SÌL will call to women who want to look chic and stylish, appreciate good design, enjoy clever details, fine materials and craftsmanship and on top of that are willing to make the difference and the world a better place by choosing to consume in an ethical, sustainable and conscious way.
